Mistakes made, Update Correction

Loyal Customers I am so sorry. I have made some mistakes this week in my posting.  I did not realize, although I should have, that many of you had listed Hemp Suede as your strap choice and not hemp Canvas.  The hemp suede has not yet arrived to me, and I had to put those of you waiting for hemp suede straps back again. I’m so sorry.  I picked up three carriers tonight [Hyacynth, Leah for Istanbul and Rebeka with Miami]  My other seamstress has the other carriers, and is not sewing yet, which was why I was a bit confunded.  I delivered  to be sewn {Susan~Timbuktu+Bag (NWC), Marissa (NHT), Lucy (NHT) and Jen ~Paris (NWC).  My second seamstress should be back friday and resume sewing upon return.  My supplies should be here by Monday.  {Hemp Suede, webbing, Cord etc}  Again, I apologize, if you feel you have waited long enough, and would rather a refund please contact me at naturallynurslings@gmail.com

I hadn’t planned on one of my seamstresses taking time off.  Death sort of just hits you. I appreciate your understanding and patience, however, I realize that babywearing is short lived and the economy is not great, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like your money back.  I will oblige and understand and even give you a coupon good for another purchase in the future.

Take Care

Still a seamstress down, Factory News and Who is sewing this week

My Seamstress is still away, it was an immediate family death.  Sewing has been a bit pushed back, but will resume quickly.  I am picking up three or four carriers on Wednesday and dropping off more to be sewn.  On Wednesday drop off will be Marissa, (Trade up) Tiffany L (NHT),   Tara (NHT) and Lucy (Trade Up) and Wendy (Dragons NHT).   Pick up is Hyacynth (BHT), Leah (Istanbul) and Julie (Lana ){I think}.  Next week I should be back to two full time seamstresses sewing and we should get out about 6-8 carriers.

I have an appointment tomorrow with our local textile sewing factory! I am so excited!!!  This is the next step in making Nurslings Hemp Tai more readily available and ready for wholesale.  Please send good thoughts that they want to take on the project and that it goes smoothly!! This is H U G E!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the small delay in sewing.  Things will be back to normal shortly.

My seamstress just had a death in her family and will need to travel to Canada.  She won’t be sewing next week.  My other seamstress will be sewing, but I won’t be able to ship out as many carriers as I had intended.  I do hope you understand.

Thanks and happy wearing.

www.naturallynurslings.com has undergone a major facelift, and we are so excited!  It looks beautiful if I do say so myself.

We have hired a new seamstress to sew for us and she will be starting to sew full time on August 4th.  This should allow me to accept more orders or possibly have more instock carriers made.   We are pleased to have her on board and I know you will all be very happy with the quality of sewing.

Soon I will be merging www.nurslingsboutique.com and www.naturallynurslings.com into one website.  All ordering for NHT will be done through Naturally Nurslings and my hope is that in the future Nurslings boutique will be for retailers and wholesale.  However, I am not any where near that point yet :)  But ordering will be done through Naturally Nurslings very soon :)

On a personal note, we have lots and lots of kittens, so if you need any… you let me know .. LOL

Introducing Cotter!

Posted: April 19, 2008 at 11:20 am | by Erika
Filed under: Nurslings General

So on Tuesday I went to the MW (midwife) appt and was 5-6cm dialated. She roughed me a bit. I had some ctx but they weren’t painful. Just sort of harder BH (braxton hicks) ctx. They went on all day, but nothing consistent. they were 15min apart… 8 min appt etc. later on in the day, they petered out. They just sort of stopped. at 9pm we decided to go and get checked because I labor fast (once I actually go into labor at 7cm) we got to the hospital at 10pm (we went for a bumpy ride.. LOL) We got admitted and then they checked me and I was still 6cm so they hooked me up to the monitor for an hour I had like 2ctx we checked in with the midwife and decided to just wait and see if anything happened, Nothing did at 1am I talked to my Midwife and we decided to go ahead and have her come in and break my water . She got there at about 1.20am. Broke my water at 1.25a and immediatley ctx started. They were over a mintue long and one on top of the other. I had NO reprieve (i expected this, but your not ever prepared for it kwim?) I sat on the birthing ball at the edge of the bed with 4 pillows in front of me to lean on while I rocked. I could feel cotter descending fast, at about 1.50a ish I got on the bed (on my side) and immediatly my body started to push. I yelled (ok cried) that I couldn’t do it. That it was too much to fast, and I was going to fail my mw and my nurse were awesome. They were very gentle and sweet. I pushed 3x and Cotter was out. He came out with his hand across his face and the cord wrapped around his arm and neck but thankfully it wasn’t tight (b/c his arm was also there) this meant that I didn’t need to be cut, but I did tear He came out and cried, and they gave him to me, gave him some o2 b/c he was juicy from fast delivery and then they asked to take him to give him more o2 and check his vitals. I got stitched up. then they gave him back and he nursed for about an hour actively I layed down with him for about 2 hours before passing him off to james and taking a shower and getting cleaned up.
I was going to come home yesturday but decided to stay to actually get some rest I slept a little last night. We got home about 1pm today. I’m uploading pics in a few mintues.
Cotter James was born 4-16-08 at 2am on the nose after a fast and furious 25 minute labor and delivery. He weighed 7lbs 6 oz and is 19″ long (they had him listed at 21.5″ but um he’s NOT) he’s very content, and likes the boob Right now he snuggled in my Hemp indio
It was a great overall experience. Altho if I do have any more kids, I WILL have a homebirth so I don’t have to fight all the freakin ‘policies’ and ‘regulations’.
